Zumba or Cardio Dance Fit Group Exercise Instructor

About the role

Instruct group exercise classes according to the guidelines set forth by the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise. Classes include Zumba or Cardio Dance Fit on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 8 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Congruently conduct group exercise classes and offer support in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner.
• Act as a positive role model for the YMCA, maintaining an enthusiastic attitude.
• Ensure all scheduled classes are conducted and sub coverage is secured.
• Greet participants and learn their names.
• Take class attendance and familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology.
• Respond promptly to emails and identify participant limitations to adapt classes or provide modifications.
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class.
• Promote a healthy lifestyle.
• Attend advanced training workshops and special events.
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required.
• Must possess and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality.
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Schedule

All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured. Classes will start and end on time.
