ZTL - ATC Training Instructional Supervisor

About the role

The successful candidate will serve as a Training Instructional Supervisor for the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Atlanta ARTCC (ZTL) in Hampton, GA. The role involves delivering high-quality training to a diverse group of students, including developmental air traffic controllers and certified professional controllers (CPC).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the activities of Contractor personnel providing support within a particular instructional area.
• Deliver classroom and simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students.
• Supervise and mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO).
• Participate in curriculum design and development.
• Interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels to ensure training services meet local facility and FAA mission needs.

Requirements

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum of five (5) years recent Certified Professional Controller (CPC) experience controlling live traffic or recent experience instructing FAA personnel at a similar type and level of ATC facility as the Atlanta ARTCC (ZTL).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required.

Qualifications

• Experience demonstrating excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroom management techniques, and a student-focused drive for continuous improvement.
• Strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems, and procedures.
• Knowledge and skills applicable for obtaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System.

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels.

Benefits

The position offers the opportunity to earn earnings as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor working on this program, which are exempt from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees between the ages of 56 and 62.
