Job Skills / Requirements

• SITE HIGHLIGHT: If you love animals, this security officer position is for you! You will ensure visitors and animals are in a safe environment and walk extensively during your shift.
• Pay Rate: $17.50 / hour (pay rate determined by current contract for the site assignment; subject to future increases)

Primary Responsibilities

• Access Control: Ensure only authorized individuals are given access to the site.
• Extensive Patrolling: Walk the interior and/or exterior of buildings, looking for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Camera Monitoring: Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns across the site.
• Customer Service: Enforce rules and policies through de-escalation techniques and ensure quality customer service in every interaction.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old or older
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• No felony convictions and must pass a criminal background check
• Pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter
• Present a friendly, positive, and professional image
• Willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record (required for driving sites)
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
• No other major violations in the last 3 years

Physical Requirements

• Able to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and possibly up and down stairs
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to respond to emergency situations
• Able to work independently with little or no supervision

Education Requirements

• All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
