Zoning Division Manager
About the role
Cherokee County is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to serve as our next Zoning Division Manager. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the County's zoning operations, guiding a team of professionals, and ensuring the effective administration of zoning regulations, development reviews, and land use processes. The position plays a key role in shaping our community through oversight of zoning cases, subdivision and development plans, and ordinance interpretation and updates.

Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree supplemented by a Master’s degree and a minimum eight (8) years of experience in Planning or Zoning.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in planning or related is preferred.
- Supervisory experience of a minimum of five (5) years mentoring and managing professional staff is preferred.
- Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Pay
Starting Range - $75,516.00 - $98,171.00 DOE
Schedule
Working in our Canton office during normal business hours as well as regular public meetings in the evenings.
