Position Overview
The Zone Team Leader (ZTL) is responsible for guiding and directing the operation of a specific zone within a retail store. This role involves overseeing a team focused on merchandising and customer service, while ensuring that all operational standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Execute established procedures for the assigned store zone, covering areas such as merchandising, power aisle compliance, signage, displays, replenishment, pricing, ad sets, and daily recovery.
- Ensure that store standards, Ops Center compliance, seasonal transition planning, inventory processes, and company programs align with operational expectations.
- Oversee the Door to Floor process to guarantee that merchandise is correctly planned and received, and that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
- Supervise associates within the assigned zone, providing daily tasks and ensuring productivity.
- Ensure that all customer service standards meet company expectations.
- Manage proper scheduling and staffing for the efficient handling of merchandise.
- Communicate company directives and programs to store associates and ensure completion of follow-up items.
- Perform store opening and closing duties as needed.
- Complete additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least two years of retail supervisory experience in a mid-size to large retail or service-oriented business.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Sound judgment and ability to preserve confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes.
- Effective communication and delegation skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Bending, twisting, gripping, reaching, pinching, squatting, kneeling, balancing, and climbing.
- Constant alertness and safe working manner.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
