About the role
The Zone Lead (ZL) reports to the Assistant Store Manager and supports merchandising in designated zones while maintaining an active selling culture. This role ensures all visual aspects meet documented company standards to drive sales. The ZL provides expertise in visual standards, merchandising techniques, fixturing, and implementation of in-store marketing elements (signs, vignettes, endcaps, tables, first look/flash finds) that reinforce seasons, holidays, and promotions within their designated areas.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead transitions, reinventions, product assortment changes, and resets while maintaining visual integrity and an organized environment.
- Execute daily/weekly workload and assigned tasks to meet visual merchandising, sales goals, and guest engagement targets.
- Participate in freight processes, including sorting, stocking, down stocking, and end cap maintenance.
- Support customer satisfaction, inventory control, safety, loss prevention, and expense control to ensure profitable store operations.
- Act as a role model and coach for visual merchandising, providing continuous learning opportunities for team members.
- Communicate and train visual priorities, creating visual moments that enhance the customer experience.
- Review store financial and business data (e.g., sales, expenses) and act within assigned zones to improve metrics.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized zone, ensuring current signing and sets are up to date.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and team lift 100 lbs., as well as move merchandise routinely in a warehouse-format store.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Strong attention to detail (e.g., standards, processes, marketing).
- Reliable, trustworthy, and demonstrates ethical behavior in all situations.
- Creates a sense of urgency, promotes teamwork, and motivates self and others to accomplish objectives.
