Zone Lead - FT
About the role
The Zone Lead (ZL) reports to the Assistant Store Manager and supports merchandising in designated zones while maintaining an active selling culture. The role ensures all visual aspects meet documented company standards to drive sales. The ZL provides expertise in visual standards, merchandising techniques, fixturing, and implementation of in-store marketing elements (signs, vignettes, endcaps, tables, first look/flash finds) that reinforce seasons, holidays, and promotions within their designated areas. The ZL influences store Team Members to uphold visual merchandising standards while demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities require physical activity, including vigorous lifting, carrying, moving around the warehouse-format store, and stocking.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead visual merchandising transitions, reinventions, product assortment changes, and resets while maintaining visual integrity, a neat and organized environment, and inspiring guest discovery through compelling merchandising.
- Support Task Management by planning and executing daily/weekly workloads and assigned tasks to meet visual merchandising, sales goals, guest engagement, and other store objectives.
- Participate in all freight processes, including sorting, stocking, down stocking, and end cap maintenance while keeping the zone neat and organized.
- Support customer satisfaction, inventory control, safety, loss prevention, expense control, and customer experience to ensure effective and profitable store operations.
- Participate in regular team meetings/huddles on key operational topics.
- Serve as a role model and coach for visual merchandising, providing continuous learning opportunities for team members.
- Communicate and train visual priorities, creating visual moments that enhance the customer experience.
- Review store financial and business data (e.g., sales, expenses) from the store scorecard and take action within assigned zones to improve metrics.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized zone, ensuring the store is up-to-date with current signing and sets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
- Open availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and team lift 100 lbs., as well as routinely move merchandise around the warehouse-format store.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, bend, climb, and reach as needed.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail (e.g., standards, processes, marketing).
