Starting Hourly Rate: $18.22

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacer and all other assigned motorized equipment.
• In the absence of the Recreation Supervisor and Assistant Recreation Supervisor, assume responsibility for the total operation of the facility.
• Perform maintenance and upkeep tasks assigned by facility management, including snow removal and cleaning high‑contact areas such as locker rooms, bathrooms, benches, and doors.
• During public skating, serve as a rink attendant, skate sharpener, or perform other duties as needed.
• Report to the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Supervisor at Vets Park.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Mechanical aptitude and past experience using large equipment (e.g., large trucks, tractors).
• Obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment (city provides free classes for Parks employees; certification must be from an organization approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division).
• Preferred: Past management experience.
• Preferred: Previous Zamboni driving experience.

Physical Requirements

• Walking, standing, hearing, speaking, stooping, bending, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, reaching, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to move and lift light objects up to 75 lb, such as hockey goals, Zamboni blades, stanchions, propane tanks, and other items.
