YouTube Writer - Tech Channel
About the role
We're Switch and Click, a YouTube channel reaching millions of viewers every month. We make videos about getting obsessed with tech, such as keyboards, monitors, home theatres, gaming, Linux, setups, handheld gaming, and whatever rabbit hole comes next. We're a small team that's growing fast, and we're looking for a writer who's excited about tech and sharing it with the world.
Responsibilities
- Research, test, and explore tech topics
- Turn messy ideas into clear, engaging YouTube scripts
- Work with editors to bring your videos to life
- Give feedback on edits, pacing, and storytelling
- Occasionally help plan visuals or shot lists
Requirements
You're genuinely interested in tech, this matters most
You naturally go down rabbit holes and enjoy figuring things out
You can explain complex ideas in a simple way
You can write, formal or informal experience both count
You're comfortable receiving and applying feedback
Qualifications
- If you're applying at the Writer level, we'll also want to see a track record of owning projects end to finish and, ideally, some experience writing for YouTube.
- Nice to Have (Not Required): Experience writing YouTube scripts, experience creating content (any platform), familiarity with topics like Linux, setups, networking, and handhelds

Pay
Pay: $50,000–$150,000 based on level (above)
Schedule
This role is 100% in-office when you’re first starting. But once you’ve built trust, mastered our voice, and shown you can reliably hit your weekly script cadence, we are open to stair-stepping into a hybrid/semi-remote schedule.
