About the role
The Program Director will lead dynamic programs that inspire, support, and empower young people through various initiatives including teen after-school programs, special events, school break camps, summer camps, and community outreach efforts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site leader for DPR’s teen after-school program, special events, school break camps, summer camps, and community outreach efforts.
- Oversight of daily operations, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with established standards.
- Develop engaging and age-appropriate programming tailored to meet the needs and interests of teens.
- Supervise staff members, providing guidance and fostering a supportive work environment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools, and community partners to enhance program effectiveness and community engagement.
- Advocate for and implement equity, inclusion, and youth development principles in all program activities.
Requirements
- A strong passion for youth development and a track record of successfully leading similar programs.
- Experience working with teens and a proven ability to develop and implement effective programming.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes.
- Knowledge of best practices in youth programming and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education, social work, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in youth programming or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
