Description
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care, all of which are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed.
What will you do as a Youth Support Partner?
As a Youth Support Partner in the Wrap Around -Charlotte department, you will provide education and assistance in navigating the child-serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care, etc.). You will also support others working with the youth to understand youth culture, assist the youth to understand and express their needs, goals, and decisions, role model effective behavior, and demonstrate positive social skills.
A typical day as a Youth Support Partner will include providing 9-12 months of mentorship to 14-21 youth in the school, home, and community setting for 90 minutes max weekly in person or virtual, building relationships with youth in the community.

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: High school diploma/GED or Associate degree in the Human Services field
- 1 year of experience working with the target population
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
Qualifications
- All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
Schedule
Your schedule will be non-traditional, but typically around 9 am-5 pm, excluding weekends and on-call.
