Youth Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a proactive employee to provide person-centered services and support children and their families who are enrolled in Children's HCBS and OPWDD services, in order to achieve increased independence, and to maintain their health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and assisting child with activities of daily living (ADL)
• Implementing behavioral support plans and guidelines
• Offering choices and opportunities for the child to engage within the community
• Monitoring and maintaining the safety of the child while in the home, community, and during transportation

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Experience working with children with DD/ABI or a mental health diagnosis preferred
• Experience working with children with behavioral needs preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required
• Basic word process and e-mail skills, required

Skills

• Must possess a valid drivers license and transportation necessary to meet program needs
• Must be able to demonstrate direct care duties including personal assistance
• Must be willing to visit children and families in their home setting
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
