Youth Specialist (3 PM - 11 PM) FT

Location: On-Site – Antioch, CA

Schedule: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Friday - Tuesday, 3 PM to 11 PM

Reports to: Program Supervisor/Program Director

About the Role

The Youth Specialist is responsible for the care and supervision of children and youth placed at the Receiving Center. Major responsibilities include providing care and supervision of youth, completing youth screenings, implementing a youth's service and safety plans, working one-on-one with youth utilizing interventions in support of identified behaviors, medication administration, documentation, transporting youth, liaison with public health nurse and county social workers, and maintaining the center site.

Responsibilities

• Youth Support
  • Develop a professional and supportive relationship with youth
  • Serve as a liaison with the nurse and social workers
  • Report all incidents and concerns to supervisor
  • Attend required meetings, supervisions, trainings, and maintain the center site
• Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete all required documentation in the database within established timelines
  • Maintain accurate, organized family files and instructional materials
  • Adhere to agency, funder, state, and federal confidentiality standards
• Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Attend team, collaborative, community, and all-staff meetings
  • Participate in required trainings and supervision
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and professional boundaries

Requirements

• BA or BS degree in social work, psychology, or related field with 1 year experience in a child welfare or behavioral health field with children with complex trauma and resultant challenging behaviors
• OR 2 full-time years' experience in a child welfare or behavioral health field with children with complex trauma and resultant challenging behaviors
• Must meet all state-required conditions of employment, including:
  • Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance
  • TB/Health physical
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 for employees hired in the Contra Costa, Concord, CA area. The pay range provided represents the typical range or starting rate for candidates hired within the Bay Area region. Candidates hired in other California locations may have different starting rates based on cost of living and market data variations. Factors that may determine your actual starting rate include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and internal comparisons to other employees in similar roles.
