About the role

Part-time player development coach responsible for delivering energetic and impactful coaching sessions to players across the New England region. Sessions range from developmental to elite-level players aged 5–17. Coaches are placed in various programs based on experience, licenses, and geographic location. This role is open to both developing coaches looking to grow and experienced coaches seeking to improve. Coaches will participate in paid staff training events and workshops throughout the year and receive an adidas uniform package and coaching equipment.

This position is not for the New England Revolution MLS Next youth teams.

Responsibilities

  • Train and coach players at various levels, including recreational, in-town, and travel sessions
  • Conduct sessions in different programs and locations throughout New England
  • Lead coach education sessions for volunteer coaches
  • Plan and run sessions using the Revolution Academy curriculum and support materials
  • Communicate effectively with players, volunteer coaches, parents, and other members of the youth soccer community
  • Arrive at sessions a minimum of 15 minutes prior to start time
  • Be available for a minimum of 3 sessions per week during Spring and Fall seasons
  • Weeknight sessions run between 4pm and 8pm; weekend sessions run between 8am and 2pm (times may vary based on location and availability)
  • Complete special projects and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–2 years of soccer coaching experience with players ages 5–17 preferred
  • Current medical clearance for fitness for duty, or ability to obtain it
  • Current immunizations meeting Massachusetts Board of Health requirements, or ability to obtain them
  • USSF Grassroots In-Person coaching license
  • USSF D License preferred
  • SafeSport certification
  • Heads Up Concussion Training

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel
  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

  • Noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud
