Youth Soccer Coach
Soccer Shots DuPage County is an award-winning children's soccer program that serves preschools, childcare centers, parks, and community locations throughout DuPage County. Our curriculum is designed by early childhood education specialists and soccer professionals to create a fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experience for children ages 2-8.
About the role
Part-time youth soccer coaches introduce children to soccer through engaging, age-appropriate sessions that build confidence, character, and a love for physical activity. Coaches manage groups of 5-10 children and communicate professionally with families, school staff, and Soccer Shots leadership.
Schedule: Fall season, 4–16 hours per week during mornings and afternoons (approximately 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepared for every session
- Effectively manage groups of 5-10 children
- Communicate professionally with families, school staff, and Soccer Shots leadership
- Create a fun and positive learning environment
- Represent Soccer Shots positively at all locations
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Reliable transportation to locations throughout DuPage County
- Daily access to a smartphone and internet
- Ability to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and medical screening in accordance with DCFS requirements
- Ability to work weekday afternoons (approximately 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM)
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children is strongly preferred (teaching, coaching, childcare, camp counseling, or education experience is a plus)
- Soccer experience is helpful but not required
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and encouraging
- Comfortable being silly, imaginative, and interactive with young children
- Friendly, approachable, and dependable
