Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to teach others, including Daily Living Skills, social skills, and community involvement
- Assist and support children and youth with disabilities in becoming actively involved in their communities, develop friendships, and independent use of community resources
- Provide opportunities for inclusion through planned activities, social interactions, exposure, advocacy, training, and education as identified in the assessment and planning process
- Provide assistance with personal care tasks, as needed (i.e. mobility, eating, bathroom, etc.)
- Document properly on all individual services provided daily in the required time frame and format
- Maintain open, respectful, and clear communication with the participant, their families, and supervisor
- Transport and accompany individuals to community activities in company or personal vehicles
Requirements
- Must pass WI caregiver background check
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to work flexible/non-standard schedule (including some evenings and weekends)
- Reliable vehicle (unless determined exempt with HR)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year work experience with individuals and/or children with Disabilities
- Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
- Knowledge in the modifications, adaptation, and use of specialized equipment
- General knowledge of computer use and programs required
