Essential Functions
- Cooks and serves meals, including sides and salads, for residents and staff of the Youth Services Center.
- Restocks shelves and rotates stock.
- Washes, dries, and puts away dishes.
- Sweeps and mops floors and rubber matting.
- Responsible for washing all equipment, including, but not limited to the grill, deep fryer, and baskets.
- Documents meals for tracking purposes.
- Prepares and distributes snacks twice daily.
- Separates trash and recyclables.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and more than one year of experience working in kitchen or food services.
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within six months of employment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and cooking procedures.
- Ability to use grill, oven, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
Personal Work Relationships
Maintains frequent contact with other county employees and residents of Youth Services Center when cooking and serving food to residents and staff members.
Working Conditions
- Works in a standard kitchen environment with frequent standing and the ability to move about freely.
- Frequent lifting of up to forty pounds, bending, pushing/pulling, reach over head and some kneeling crawling and climbing ladders.
- Frequent attention to detail, monitoring equipment and detailed inspection is required.
- Very frequently exposed to extreme temperatures, dangerous equipment, chemicals, noise and noxious odors.
Licensing
Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within six months of employment.

None.
Hours
10:30am - 6pm; hours vary per week; minimum 16 hours/week.
