About the role

The Youth Service Learning (YSL) Coordinator plays a key role in the 4-H program by organizing, implementing, and supporting youth leadership initiatives, community engagement opportunities, and overall program operations. This unique position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people in Iron County by guiding them through hands-on service learning experiences that encourage leadership, responsibility, and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate YSL meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, communication, and follow-up.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support summer camps and other seasonal youth programs.
  • Oversee YSL activities, including fundraising events and community service projects.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and county requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and budgets.
  • Attend monthly office meetings.

Qualifications

  • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or special events as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth, community engagement, community programs, or volunteer coordination.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities in communication & interpersonal skills, organization & administrative skills, adaptability & initiative, professionalism & work ethic.
