About the role
We are seeking outgoing candidates for Child Watch and other youth programs who have a fun, loving, and caring attitude towards children and want to make a difference in a child’s life. The role involves working with children and their families between the ages of 6 weeks and 11 years.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and friendly environment for members’ children
- Supervise and participate with groups in both indoor and outdoor activities
- Assist with set-up and clean-up
- Plan, lead, and organize games, sports, crafts, and other age-appropriate activities
- Take on Lead and/or Coordinator roles monthly, which include prep work, lesson planning, and discipline
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have babysitting experience or be enrolled in an Early Childhood Development class in high school or college
- Must be available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week and two weekends per month
- Daily attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and individual responsibility are required
Schedule
Standard shifts are 3-4 hours long. Youth programs run during the following hours:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM (program hours vary)
- Saturday: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM and 4:30-7:30 PM (both shifts needed)
Examples of Lead/Coordinator shifts:
- No School Days: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break (weekdays)
- Youth Programs: 4:00 PM-7:30 PM (Saturday evenings), 2:15 PM-6:00 PM (weekdays)
This position can continue year-round if the applicant is interested.
