Youth Program Leader

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide a safe and enriching environment for youth program participants.

Essential Job Functions

• Sets up and leads youth program activities including sports and fine arts activities;
• Supervises youth while swimming;
• Attends field trips;
• Leads community service projects;
• Leads team building exercises;
• Maintains parent communication including answering questions; discussing behavior concerns; and, reminding parents about upcoming events and activities;
• Performs and maintains safety including CPR and First Aid; fire drills; and, site checks;
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Reads and understands written instructions;
• Understands simple processes and the routine operation of machines;
• Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information; uses standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization; reads papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias; performs the four basic arithmetic operations; writes reports, prepares business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
