About the Role
The Youth Program Leader will work up to 29 hours a week from August to May (Monday - Friday) and 30+ hours per week for June and July (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position involves working with youth in the After-School Program and Summer Youth Program, under the Health, Wellness, and Education Department and in collaboration with other Tribal Departments. The role requires patience and adaptability to respond to a wide variety of challenges when working with youth ages 5 through 11. Follow applicable laws, rules, regulations, Nambé Pueblo policies, and supervisor directives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a chaperone, positive role model, and actively engage with children.
- Transport youth to scheduled events.
- Discipline as necessary and with tact.
- Participate in activities in a positive manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Must pass a background and drug test.
- Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license and be insurable through the Pueblo of Nambe.
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or be currently enrolled in high school.
- Must be First Aid/CPR Certified or willing to obtain certification.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Must have some experience working with children ages 5–17.
- Must maintain professionalism, friendliness, courtesy, a positive attitude, and confidentiality at all times.
Schedule
August–May: up to 29 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
June–July: 30+ hours per week, Tuesday–Thursday.
