Youth Pastor

About the Role

Sharon Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and biblically grounded Youth Pastor to lead our middle and high school ministry. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus, loves students, and has a heart for seeing the next generation become lifelong disciples of Christ. The ideal candidate is a leader who can build meaningful relationships with students and parents, recruit and develop volunteers, teach God’s Word in an engaging way, and create an environment where students feel welcomed, challenged, and encouraged in their faith. This role involves more than planning events—it’s about investing in students’ lives, equipping families, and helping raise up young men and women who will follow Christ for a lifetime.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the middle and high school ministry.
• Teach biblically sound, relevant, and engaging messages each week.
• Build authentic relationships with students and their families.
• Recruit, train, and encourage adult volunteer leaders.
• Plan weekly services, small groups, retreats, camps, mission trips, and outreach events.
• Develop student leaders and create opportunities for them to serve.
• Partner with parents as they disciple their teenagers at home.
• Work collaboratively with the church staff to support the overall mission and vision of Sharon Church.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming ministry environment.

Qualifications

• A growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A clear calling to student ministry.
• Strong communication and teaching abilities.
• Ability to lead, organize, and develop teams.
• Relational, approachable, and energetic personality.
• A heart for evangelism and discipleship.
• Agreement with the beliefs and values of Sharon Church.
• Previous experience leading or serving in youth ministry is preferred but not necessary.

About the Youth of Sharon Church

We have a group of students that have a desire to learn and grow in their relationship with Christ. Our former youth pastor passed away several months ago from a long battle with cancer. This has been a tough journey for the church, staff, and our students, but through it, we have seen much growth. God is still good and faithful. We have 100+ students that gather each Wednesday night and a great core of 40+ volunteers to assist.

Sharon Church is located in McDonough, Georgia, in the community of Ola. Once a quiet, rural farming community, Ola is now experiencing tremendous growth and development. As new neighborhoods, businesses, and families move into the area, our mission field is expanding. What was once farmland is quickly becoming a thriving community—and an incredible opportunity for us to reach more people with the love of Christ.
