Youth Pastor

About the role

Southside Baptist Church, Shelbyville, TN, is seeking a bi-vocational youth pastor for our growing church. Our youth department is experiencing growth and desires someone to direct our youth in their spiritual growth.

Responsibilities

• Delivering strong biblical teachings and training to youth in grades 6 through 12.
• Maintaining a primary work schedule that includes Sunday morning worship and Wednesday evening Bible study.
• Adjusting hours as needed for additional activities.
• Planning and conducting outside youth activities, aiming for quarterly events and outings.
• Proclaiming the Gospel to both believers and non-believers within the youth department.
• The church currently utilizes the Lifeway curriculum.
• Working under the supervision of the Pastor and the Deacon body.
• Serving as a spiritual leader for our church community.

Qualifications

• Devout Christian and active member of a Baptist church
• Previous experience working with youth
• Proficient in coaching and counseling young people
• Capable of passing a background check
• Possesses a Tennessee driver’s license
• Committed to nurturing youth in their faith in Christ
