Youth Multi-Sport Coach - South San Francisco
About the Role
We seek passionate and committed part-time Youth Multi-Sport Coaches in South San Francisco to make a positive difference in America's youth by coaching youth multi-sport after-school programs. No previous coaching experience is required—we train all coaches. This is a great opportunity if you love working with youth, teaching sports and wellness, and helping others improve.
As a multi-sport Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll lead or assist at 3 weekly sports enrichment classes at after-school programs in South San Francisco. The upcoming season runs from September 8th to December 2026, with a focus on Tuesday-Thursday afternoons. You must be available for the entire season, with a time commitment of 6-10 hours per week, typically between 2pm-6pm, depending on the number of classes you teach.
We provide all necessary training, equipment, and support. Classes will take place at community parks, tennis courts, and elementary schools across Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, San Francisco, South San Francisco, and Walnut Creek.
Responsibilities
- Lead fun and safe weekly sports enrichment classes for kids ages 5-10 (training provided).
- Ensure a safe and reliable program by arriving on time each week for the entire season.
- Attend an in-person orientation training.
- Interact positively with parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Set up before and clean up after your program.
Schedule
- Classes generally occur between 1:30pm - 4:15pm, Tuesday - Thursday each week during the season.
- You must be available to coach in the afternoon on at least one program day per week.
- Additional hours may be available through other programs.
Requirements
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to coaching sites is required. A vehicle is helpful for transporting equipment.
- Responsible & Professional: Arrive on time to each practice, keep accurate attendance, and interact positively with parents and school staff.
- Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with ANTS, parents, and site staff via email and phone.
- Enthusiastic & Fun: Serve as a positive role model for students, promoting sportsmanship, wellness, and positivity.
- Patience: Understand young children and their need to develop at their own pace.
- Experience: At least two years of experience as a player or coach is highly valuable but optional.
- Background Check: Must pass a Federal and state background check and/or FBI Fingerprinting (Livescan) and test negative for TB (within the last 4 years).
