Youth Mentor

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with adolescent residents and provide emotional support as needed
• Aid in daily routines, ensuring residents follow their treatment plans and achieve established goals
• Facilitate and participate in group and individual activities aligned with residents' treatment plans
• Model appropriate behavior and life skills, reinforcing positive actions and redirecting negative behaviors
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' progress, completing necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including clinicians, case managers, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and effective care
• Attend and participate in trainings and meetings as required
• Engage with students in the Academic Process

Requirements

• Prior experience working with adolescents in a mental health or residential treatment setting (preferred but not required)
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed
• Able to pass all required background checks and drug screenings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of adolescent development and common mental health disorders
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Swing Shifts: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 2:45 - 11 PM + 2 Sundays a month 2:45 PM - 11 PM
