Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
  • Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
  • Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
  • Able to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or Valid ID
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Have dependable transportation
  • Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued

About the Role

As a Youth Mentor at Mentoring Alliance After School, you will foster youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. Your role includes being a role model and having an eternal impact on kids in your community. This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enrichment activities for elementary school-aged children
  • Foster youth development through mentoring and guidance
  • Ensure safety and supervision of students during program hours
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training

Requirements

Pay

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week. The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
