Youth Leader - PT - Afterschool

About the role

Under the supervision of a Recreation Specialist or Senior Youth Leader, the Summer Youth Leader will lead and supervise Afterschool participants and other various recreational activities. This is a seasonal position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers and program participants
• Supervise children aged 5–13 in various indoor and outdoor settings, adapting to different weather conditions
• Implement engaging lesson plans in recreation, adventure, education, and enrichment
• Serve meals and snacks to program participants as needed
• Perform daily operational tasks, including cleaning, filing, sorting, answering phones, and copying
• Maintain essential records and prepare necessary reports, such as participation, usage, accident, and work order reports
• Follow City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of two (2) years of high school

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year experience working in a related field
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Certificates and Licenses

• Valid driver’s license
• CPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 days
• Food handler license or able to attain within 90 days
