Youth Development Specialist (Shelter)

About the role

The Youth Development Specialist (Shelter) plays a crucial role in providing support and guidance to youth residing at the shelter. This individual will work closely with the shelter staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional and behavioral issues.
• Develop and implement educational programs that promote healthy life skills and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and progress reports for each youth client.
• Collaborate with other shelter staff members to develop comprehensive care plans for youth clients.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss case management strategies and share insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth in a similar capacity.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
