About the role

The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for providing daily programs, services, and activities for Club members, aligning with the organization's youth development mission and goals. This role involves preparing youth for success, developing positive relationships, and effectively implementing and monitoring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment conducive to achieving youth development outcomes by promoting program participation and facilitating member orientations.
  • Guide and model behavior for members, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Implement and administer programs, services, and activities for drop-in members and visitors, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Prepare daily activity reports and monitor programs for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in weekly Unit staff meetings to maintain a productive work environment.
  • May assist in special programs and events, and occasionally drive for Club activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
  • Valid identification.

Skills

  • Organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to handle diverse personalities and maintain professionalism.
  • Physical stamina for high-energy environments.

Pay

$10 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time (20-25 hours/week during school year; 25-35 hours/week during summer), available between 7:30-5:30 Monday- Friday during the summer and 2:30-7:00 Monday- Friday during the school year.
