What You Will Be Doing
- Coaching Guides to reliably provide outstanding student experiences while upholding Alpha's rigorous standards.
- Facilitating dynamic life skills workshops that build communication, leadership, focus, and other practical competencies for K-12 students.
- Inspiring students to pursue ambitious academic targets and optimize progress within their self-directed learning pathways.
- Leveraging data, direct observation, and coaching dialogues to enhance Guide effectiveness and student results.
- Supporting the launch and establishment of new Alpha campuses by cultivating a culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Delivering traditional academic instruction or subject-specific lectures.
- Developing lesson plans or curriculum materials.
- Compromising standards to generate superficial feelings of success rather than facilitating genuine mastery.
- Leading a team remotely from an office without direct, regular coaching engagement with students and Guides.
- Maintaining obsolete practices solely because they reflect historical precedent.
Responsibilities
- Guarantee that every student consistently receives Alpha's three core promises by developing high-performing Guides, facilitating compelling life skills sessions, and upholding uncompromising expectations for student achievement.
Requirements
Basic Requirements
- Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation assistance provided): Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; Santa Barbara, CA.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or comparable leadership capacity.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of five or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based termination decisions.
- Documented success utilizing data to inform and drive performance improvements.
- Experience engaging with children ages 5-14 in educational, coaching, or developmental contexts.
- Background in building or launching new teams, programs, businesses, schools, or initiatives, with readiness to support opening a new campus from inception.
- Commitment to working within a school model that rejects traditional lecture-based instruction.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience coaching youth in athletics, debate, camps, or extracurricular activities.
- Outstanding public speaking and storytelling abilities.
- History of attaining high levels of academic, professional, or athletic achievement.
- Experience driving teams toward ambitious objectives while sustaining rigorous accountability.
- Enthusiasm for questioning traditional education models and contributing to the development of a new K-12 paradigm.
Pay
The compensation level for this role is $200,000 USD/year.
Schedule
This is a full-time, year-long position with weekly payment periods.
