Youth Development Counselor (Mon & Tues: 7am-5pm, Sat & Sun: 8am-6pm)

About the role
The Youth Development Counselor (YDC) plays a crucial role in supporting children in our residential group homes. Key responsibilities include constant supervision, care, and protection of the youth, helping them develop life skills, and implementing various activities.
Responsibilities
- Constant supervision, protection, and care of youth, individually and in groups.
- Work as part of the treatment team to help youth develop various skills.
- Develop and implement various activities for the youth.
- Demonstrate a trauma-informed, relationship-based, strength-based, and culturally/LGBTQ-sensitive approach.
- Administer appropriate and effective interventions and set behavior limits according to agency policy.
- Manage agency vehicles and sign in/out of the vehicle log sheet.
- Participate in and conduct cottage group meetings, documenting meeting content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment facility.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- A good driving record and valid California Driver’s License.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
Skills
- Experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment facility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Pay
The final compensation will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors. The pay range is $17.68 - $24.21 per hour.
Schedule
Shift schedule: M-T-W-Th-F-S 7AM - 5PM.
