About the role

The Youth Crisis Center Crisis Peer Support Specialist/ Safety Monitor position at Clarvida is dedicated to supporting youth experiencing mental health crises. This role involves providing support through shared lived experiences to promote recovery and resilience, alongside an interdisciplinary team focused on crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to youth experiencing mental health crises
• Help youth understand their role in accessing services and becoming informed consumers
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to de-escalate, treat, and stabilize behavioral health needs
• Conduct client and visitor check-ins and discharge
• Communicate with staff on shift and provide assistance by connecting callers to the appropriate staff

Requirements

• Peer Support certification from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
• High School Diploma or GED
• Pass background checks, including Enhanced Fingerprinting with ID DHW

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain Optum Idaho Youth Peer Support Endorsement

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Experience with crisis intervention
• Understanding of mental health and behavioral health needs

• $18-$19/hour daytime PRN rate
• Approximately 5 daytime PRN hours per week
• PRN stipend for every three shifts covered within a 60-day period
