Youth Care Worker

About the role

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for Youth Care Worker at Safe Passage in South Bend, Indiana. Safe Passage is a diagnostic and evaluation facility that works with youth ages 10 to 18.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
• Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
• Maintain an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities.
• Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screen (no longer tests for THC for pre-employment), physical, and TB test
• Pass a search of the child abuse central registry

Pay

Starting at $20/hour. Earn a $1,000 bonus after successful completion of essential skills training (within 90 days).

Schedule

12-hour days (8:30am to 9:00pm days) alternating with 12-hour nights (9:00pm to 9:00am nights) with 1 hour breaks.
