About the Role

Reach for Youth is seeking a full-time Clinical Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic, diverse multi-disciplinary team in Indianapolis. This role involves providing office-based individual and family therapy, participating in clinical programming within the community, and contributing to our mission of empowering Central Indiana youth and their families through prevention, intervention, counseling, and youth development initiatives.

Story and Mission

Established in 1974 by south-side Indianapolis community leaders, Reach For Youth serves over 3,500 youth and their families across Central Indiana. Our programs include mental health and counseling interventions, Teen Court, school readiness initiatives, and prevention services aimed at strengthening families and providing opportunities for youth. Our mission is to foster transformative change by addressing the essential elements of positive youth development and mental health: a sense of belonging, mastery, independence, and servant leadership through community engagement.

Programs and Services

Our mission is fulfilled through two primary programs:

  • Family-focused counseling services: Individual, group, and family counseling, along with educational and therapeutic groups.
  • Restorative justice prevention/intervention: Teen Court, Pathways To Success, Restorative Justice Circles, and Social Emotional Learning sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of individuals and families.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with clients and their families.
  • Conduct individual and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver psycho-educational and therapeutic groups.
  • Maintain community contacts to advocate for clients and facilitate referrals.
  • Maintain timely documentation adhering to regulations and professional standards.
  • Assist with program planning and evaluation.
  • Provide two evenings of availability until 6 PM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
  • Provisional license in Indiana as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
  • Preferred knowledge of juvenile justice, child welfare, community resources, and substance abuse issues.

Schedule

4-day work week (36 hours), no on-call, no weekends, with two evenings until 6 PM.

Reports to: Director of Mental Health

Purpose: To provide clinical mental health counseling services to youth ages 7-18 and their families, enhancing relationships, building connections, and providing hope.
