Summary
The Youth Advisor position supports the rehabilitation mission of Peckham Inc. by providing care and guidance to female at-risk youth under the supervision of the Footprints Coordinator. Key responsibilities include ensuring safety, offering emotional support, mediating conflicts, and promoting personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and safe environment for youth residents
- Provide guidance and emotional support to help youth cope with challenges
- Mediate conflicts and resolve disputes constructively
- Encourage participation in activities and therapeutic sessions
- Implement behavior management techniques and programs
- Work closely with other staff, social workers, counselors, and families
- Assist with daily living tasks and emergency responses
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 6 months to a year experience working with youth
- Past and current security clearances
- Unrestricted driver's license with a clear driving record
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience with juvenile court system preferred
Physical and Mental Demands
- Lift and move up to 25 pounds
