YoungLives Director Tucson
About the role
The Tucson Area is seeking a YoungLives Area Director—part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate—to lead and expand ministry to teen parents across the city. With over 15 years of YoungLives history and a team of seasoned mentors, the Tucson Area is well-positioned for growth.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.
- Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.
- Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.
- Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.
- Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.
Requirements
- Education: College degree preferred.
- Experience: Required For The Job Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
- Skills: Ability to clearly communicate the Gospel and train others accordingly, ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for YoungLives, proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, self-motivated, goal-oriented, proven leadership skills, ability to travel as the job requires.

Understanding of the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting teen moms.
Prominent relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Self-motivated.
Goal-oriented.
Proven leadership skills.
Ability to travel as the job requires.
Skills
Adherence to mission training guidelines for area directors.
Attendance at YoungLives trainings as directed by the YoungLives regional and/or divisional coordinator.
Participation in missionwide staff conference every four years.
Participation in additional training or experiences if deemed necessary (e.g., more urban exposure; Taking Donors Seriously (TDS) training).
Attendance at regional training as directed by the regional director.
Pursuit of continuing educational opportunities including graduate degrees.
Pursuit of programs designed for personal spiritual maturity or personal enrichment.
Pursuit of seminars designed to enhance professional skills.
