Young Children's Community (Toddler ) Lead Guide, Isthmus Montessori Academy

About the role

Isthmus Montessori Academy is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Lead Guide for our Young Children’s Community (Toddler) classroom. The Lead Guide is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment for children ages 18 months to 3 years. This role includes guiding children’s independence, supporting social-emotional development, fostering strong partnerships with families, and collaborating with colleagues to uphold the mission and values of the school.

The ideal candidate holds an AMI A to I Diploma (as we are an AMI recognized school) but others will be considered, demonstrates a deep respect for young children, and is committed to creating an inclusive, joyful, and authentic Montessori community. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a beautiful, organized Montessori environment.
• Guide children’s development through observation, individualized support, and Montessori practices.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Support children’s independence, self-confidence, and social-emotional growth.
• Maintain classroom records and communicate regularly with families.
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Uphold licensing requirements as required per Department of Children and Families.

Pay

$43,500-$50,000 annually.
