Young Adult Peer Mentor
About the role
JRI's Flexible Support Services program seeks to empower youth and families by providing support and education. The role involves working with clients to improve their functioning within the home and community, avoiding hospitalizations, and supporting them in navigating the state system.
Responsibilities
- Utilize personal experiences to support client growth
- Collaborate with clinicians, family partners, and therapeutic support specialists
- Work alongside DMH staff to provide culturally competent, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment
- Navigate the state system to assist clients
Requirements
- Personal experience living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance use, and/or traumatic life concerns
- 2 years of experience as a Young Adult Peer Mentor, or completion of an advanced peer to peer training program
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred
- Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
- At least 21 years old
- Reliable, insured vehicle and active driver’s license

Experience and education are key qualifications for this role. Applicants must have relevant experience and a strong educational background to contribute effectively to the program.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Experience in mental health and trauma-informed care is highly valued.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and qualifications.
