Yoga and Pilates Group Exercise Instructor

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual to conduct group exercise classes according to the guidelines set forth by the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise. Responsibilities

• Congruently conduct group exercise classes
• Provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
• Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured
• Classes will start and end on time
• Greet participants and learn their names
• Take class attendance
• Familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology
• Identify participants' limitations and adapt classes or provide modifications
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle
• Attend advanced training workshops
• Participate in special events and open houses
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Additional Barre certification preferred but not required
• Available early mornings, evenings, and weekends
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required
• Obtain and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
