Yield Technicians First Shift

Responsibilities

  • Check the floor for chickens that have come off the line.
  • Catch chickens that have come off the line and return them to the line.
  • Remove chickens that are on the line that have died.
  • Hang the chickens that were identified as being dead and make a cut to ensure they are dead before disposing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Excellent attendance record (2 points or less).
  • Willing to cross train and learn all tasks in department.
  • Perform basic mathematics.
  • Able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Effectively manage time to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with other hourly employees and plant management.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 db.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Must handle the weight of 8 to 10 lbs. repetitively, occasionally lifting, pushing or pulling 40 to 70 lbs.
  • Exposure to dust, feathers and chemicals used in poultry processing facility.
  • Able to work in a stationary position, on foot for the entire shift.
  • Able to work with tools, like scissors, knives and/or power tools for the duration of the shift.
  • Able to climb steps and to access and egress through production environment.
