About the role
Team members efficiently move trailers around the facility to help prepare freight that is being transported to Menard, Inc. stores.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move trailers to different areas of the facility
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions while driving and operating equipment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
- Open and close swinging trailer doors
- Ensure proper freight securement of all loaded trailers
- Work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations
- Communicate with area supervisors using a yard management system to ensure proper placement of trailers
- Perform pre-trip inspection on trailers
- Perform safety check of tractor vehicle prior to operation
- Basic mechanical skills
Requirements
- Must possess a good driving record
- Experience operating tractor/trailer or willingness to learn
- CDL license a plus, but not a requirement
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Proof of valid driver’s license
