About the role

Lumber Mart, Inc. is a full-service lumberyard, truss manufacturing operation, and hardware store that strives to provide the best in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments of lumber and building materials.
  • Assist customers in loading and unloading materials, always providing exceptional service.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the yard and warehouse, ensuring materials are easily accessible and properly labeled.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and store materials safely.
  • Cut lumber and other materials to specific lengths using saws or other tools as needed.
  • Keep the yard and warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping, disposing of debris, and maintaining safety protocols.
  • Assist with assembling and preparing orders for delivery to customers and construction sites.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or lumber yard environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure and cut materials.
  • Experience operating forklifts or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift certification or experience operating other heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Experience with basic carpentry or construction tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.

Pay

$19-$25 depending on experience

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:30-5:30 (1 hour lunch), Saturday 8:00 - 5:00 (1 hour lunch) (Saturdays on a rotating schedule)
