Yard Torcher/Cat Cutter

About the role

The Yard Torcher is responsible for dismantling vehicles and other equipment to extract nonferrous metals.

Responsibilities

• Extract catalytic converters along with other nonferrous materials
• Ensure all materials are properly segregated
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials
• Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to encourage repeat business and maintain a positive reputation in the industry
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1+ years experience using a cutting torch and other hand tools to dismantle vehicle and equipment

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of nonferrous materials and their value
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards

Physical demands

• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
