Yard Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily yard activities
• Manage receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of products coming into and out of the yard
• Maintain stock records and schedules
• Ensure that orders arrive and are shipped on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities
• Management and engagement of an experienced staff
• Perform all daily functions, including forklift operation, computer transactions, and clerical duties required to develop and maintain the operation in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Certifications/Licenses: Forklift Operator and Driver’s License
• Education/Experience: High school Diploma or Equivalent; and five to seven years related experience and/or training
• Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, clients, customers, and the general public
• Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet software; database software and contract management systems
• Physical Demands: Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision; regularly required to sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand and climb or balance; occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently work outside in the elements

Pay

Salary: $60k - $65k per year

Schedule

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm
