Yard Supervisor

About the role

The ideal candidate will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment, administering work yard operations while ensuring compliance with safety policies. Responsibilities include maintaining yard organization, training and evaluating staff, handling materials, monitoring product loading, and coordinating deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Manager in ensuring all vehicles and drivers comply with legal and regulatory safety standards
• Maintain the yard in an orderly fashion, ensuring product is stored in the correct location with proper dunnage
• Schedule workload and coordinate daily delivery schedules based on sales requests and product availability
• Verify loads are properly secured and erection materials are shipped to jobsites as required
• Work closely with the production team to determine items ready for delivery
• Operate heavy equipment as needed
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel on receiving items
• Conduct daily cycle counts of inventory and OPC items
• Assist in locating items in the yard
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a related industry preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work under limited supervision
• Good attendance and a positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the day
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred

Pay

Hourly pay is $25–$30, based on experience.
