Yard Specialist

What You’ll Do

• Conduct routine yard inspections to identify damaged or inoperable tractors and trailers
• Create repair orders and document repair estimates for equipment requiring maintenance
• Cookordinate with external vendors by submitting repair requests for work outside the scope of the shop
• Perform minor repairs, including replacing tires, lights, mud flaps, and other basic maintenance items
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard by ensuring equipment is properly positioned and parked

What We’re Looking For

• Required: High school diploma or GED required, 3-5 years of experience in the transportation, fleet maintenance, or related industry, or equivalent military experience
• Preferred: Valid driver's license, CDL A preferred, Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the role, Strongly Preferred: Certifications (EPA 609, Cummins, Navistar, Daimler), Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, DTNA, Bendix, etc.), Class 8 truck repair experience (electronics, PMs, brakes, suspension)

Day-to-day Work

As a Yard Specialist, you'll be responsible for conducting routine yard inspections, creating repair orders, coordinating with external vendors, performing minor repairs, and maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient yard. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The role requires frequent physical activity including walking, climbing, lifting, and operating heavy equipment. On-site work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
