Yard Scanner - Hueneme Port Team

This position is responsible for the daily scanning of vehicles throughout the site to identify locations. This position will walk from vehicle to vehicle scanning bar codes, and verifying VIN numbers according to the information listed on the scanner. All duties will be performed in accordance to GLOVIS process and procedures. Must be open to overtime.

Responsibilities

• Scan and verify VIN numbers of vehicles
• Walk unit to unit to scan vehicles in the lot at the VPC entrance side
• Use a hand-held scanner to scan vehicle bar codes and verify VIN numbers
• Timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
• Work at a rapid pace, while following company standards/procedures, safety guidelines, and colors being used.
• Report any issues to the supervisors' attention immediately
• Effective communication: Communicate effectively with internal/external customers, peers, and supervisors to meet and exceed customer expectation
• Stay well-informed of any changes in tasks or policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid state driver's license required

Skills

• Ability to read and understand English-language instructions and documentation
• Knowledge of hand-held electronics
• Effective communication with internal/external customers, peers, and supervisors
• Ability to work at a rapid pace while following company standards, procedures, safety guidelines, and color coding
• Ability to report issues promptly to supervisors
• Staying informed of changes in tasks or policies and procedures
