Yard Loader

About the role

The Sales/Yard Loader operates a front-end loader to move raw materials and load finished products into customer trucks and railcars. This role involves maintaining product stockpiles, ensuring safety, and adhering to MSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front-end loaders to move materials and load finished products
• Regulate material flow to and from conveyors, surge piles, chutes, and storage bins
• Maintain product stockpiles to prevent contamination and comply with environmental regulations
• Assist in operating other mobile equipment as needed
• Manage traffic flow and assert leadership over visiting drivers
• Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Report equipment malfunctions and perform daily inspections
• Keep the loading area and plant floor clean
• Communicate effectively with plant operators and co-workers
• Accurately complete daily reports and logs
• Work overtime and weekends as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in front-end loader operation and maintenance
• Knowledge of road specifications and slopes
• Familiarity with heavy equipment components
• Mechanical aptitude
• Troubleshooting skills
• MSHA compliance and regulations knowledge
• Time management skills

Skills

• Strong hand-eye-foot coordination
• Good depth perception
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and reach
• Ability to maintain three points of contact when climbing

Benefits

Compensation: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour, plus a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
