Yard Jockey- RESUME AND CDL A REQUIRED

About the Role

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment while performing essential transportation and logistics tasks within the yard and shipping department.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment at all times and comply with all safety rules
• Move trailers to and from docks as required
• Prepare and load all LTL shipments and prepare CPU orders for pickup
• Seal all outbound loads for security
• Perform yard audits of equipment as required
• Support other team members, learn new skills, and contribute to team improvements
• Assist with assembly and/or finishing tasks as needed
• Cross-train in shipping and other tasks to meet customer demands
• Participate in 5S continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Shipping supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid Arizona driver’s license
• Ability to safely spot trailers using a yard truck
• CDL certification required
• Fork truck license preferred
• Detail-oriented and willing to work in a team environment
• Understanding of truck operations and preventive maintenance
• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents (e.g., pallet tickets, manufacturing schedules, job orders)
• Effective communication with co-workers and customers
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for inventory control, production tracking, and order verification
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret and follow multiple tasks or instructions

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and walk
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to speak and communicate clearly, hear warning signals, forklifts, and announcements
• Must be able to visually inspect wood products
• Frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds

Working Conditions

• Indoor manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required)
• Safety glasses required; work gloves recommended
• Occasional overtime and weekend work required
