Yard Jockey/Bulk Trailer Loader - 2nd Shift - $5,000 First Year Sign-On Bonus

About the role

This position offers a competitive sign-on bonus of $5,000 and a starting hourly rate of $24.00, with additional pay for night shifts. There is also an annual performance bonus and on-the-job training to enhance skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily record keeping including filling out reports, inspections, bin measurements, and weight tickets.
• Taking flour samples, testing samples, and completing Certificates of Analysis.
• Maintaining mechanical systems by performing minor repairs.
• Safely driving and operating yard tractors to move bulk tanks and van trailers.
• Inspecting tanks according to procedures and policies.
• Aiding feed drivers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbally.
• Strong work planning and decision-making skills.
• Analytical skills to recognize and assess problems.
• At least one year of manufacturing or plant operations experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Personal Safety, and Food Safety processes.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Physical requirements: Able to lift 50 pounds, exert 20 pounds of force, work in hot and cold conditions, ascend and descend stairs, wear respiratory protection, and maintain cleanliness.
• Working conditions: Must be able to work in a production environment and follow safety and food safety policies.

Other Considerations

• Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and opposing shifts when needed.
• Willing to assist other plant personnel during normal and abnormal operating conditions.
• Responsible for housekeeping, sanitation, and infestation control tasks as assigned.
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
• Team members must be clean-shaven for tasks requiring respiratory protection.

Pay and Schedule

• Starting range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience.
• The targeted bonus plan and percentage amount for this role is 5% of annual salary.
• Shift differential is provided for eligible employees working outside of standard business hours.
